Today is apparently touch and go day at WPAFB. I stopped off at the Wright Brothers memorial to enjoy my coffee since I was running early for work and caught a few pictures of one of the two C-17s doing touch and go’s.
I have a few more pictures from the memorial itself that I may try sharing on drivetribe so I can give it a test run. If anyone is interested in seeing them but not interested in drivetribe let me know, and I’ll share here as well.

Growing up in the flight pattern of Charleston AFB I have always loved me some C-17. I used to work on one of the beaches and watching them banking and giving it some gas out over the water made my day.

super cool - we had a pair of them go over as part of the covid19 flyover thing a few months ago. They just look like they should fall out of the sky.

I work on base so I get to see all kinds of interesting planes come in and have been in a few places where I could get pictures. Unfortunately I have to be very careful about where I am when I take pictures, and if I plan to share them I have to really pay attention to what’s in the background. Today I got lucky and caught this one before coming in.
There’s a contractor that does aerial mapping using a modified DC-3. I really hope to eventually get a picture of that.

Oh that would be a cool one to get a picture of.

Used to live down the road from Scott. Watching these and the C5s on approach and departure was always fun.

They do that all the time down there. Back when we were build the Human Performance Wing, they’d have the C-5s flying laps all day and into the night.
